What if the most important task, usually ignored, was accomplished by an unremarkable creature? I once saw a cockroach loitering near the kitchen of my grandma's house, and suddenly came up with this idea. Perhaps it was the cockroach which inadvertently accompanied my grandma when she felt lonely. It was ironic for any family members who seldom say hello to our grandma. Thus, I created Henry to strengthen the importance of maintaining a warm relationship with our loved ones.

Although it is possible that the elderly live happy lives alone, I believe they still long for a warm hello from others. I realize such an issue when visiting my grandmother. After my grandfather passed away, she is used to living in rural areas alone. However, I always perceive great sadness in her eyes when I am about to leave. That is to say, no matter who you are, it is part of human nature to desire companionship.

The final form of my thesis film is a full 3D animated short. The story begins with a simple idea; a little girl travels in a different world after her death. The film intends to attract audiences’ attention by enticing images, beautiful afterlife looks, and the visual effects of the film.
